This zero-proof twist on the classic Southern mint julep is refreshing, elegant, and made to sparkle, literally. With Spiritless Kentucky 74 as the bourbon alternative and a swirl of SHAKE Infused Edible Glitter, this mocktail is perfect for Derby Day, garden parties, or whenever you need a glam pick-me-up.

Sparkling Mint Julep 🐎 (Kentucky Derby Special)

Ingredients

3 oz Spiritless Kentucky 74 (non-alcoholic bourbon alternative)
0.5 oz simple syrup (adjust to taste)
8 fresh mint leaves, plus extra for garnish
Crushed ice
2-3 dropper full of SHAKE Infused Edible Glitter (for extra flair)
2-3 dropper full of SHAKE Infused Edible Glitter (for extra flair)
Optional: splash of soda water for a lighter twist

Directions

Muddle Mint: In a collins or tall glass, gently muddle the mint leaves with simple syrup to release the oils. Don’t over-muddle—just a few presses will do.
Pour in the Spiritless Kentucky 74 and stir gently to combine.
Drop in a full dropper of SHAKE (one of each color) Infused Edible Glitter and stir again. Watch the shimmer swirl!
Fill the cup with crushed ice and give it a stir until the glass frosts over.
Garnish with a sprig of mint (give it a clap between your hands to release the aroma). Serve with a straw and a smile.

I like to make my own simple syrup, infused with fresh mint. It is so easy, equal parts water and sugar, bring to a boil, stirring occasionally. Cool finished syrup in the refrigerator prior to use and lasts about a month in the fridge.
